What do you need?

Phosh Tour is like GNOME Tour except its for Phosh desktop environment. In its 0.54.0 release it received support to add distro specific pages (see gitlab.gnome.org/World/Phosh/phosh-tour/-@fe96c01ef9 as an example).

So the need is for an logo that would represent Mobility SIG as Phosh and related components are mainly packaged by Mobility SIG.

Request type

Graphic Design / Artwork (logo, an icon, an infographic, swag design, etc.)

Problem Statement

This would allow us to add our branding to the application.

Contacts

Me and Mobility SIG

Deadline

No deadline but if something needed then by the end of 2026.

Who will benefit?

The distro page would be seen by anyone who uses Mobility SIG produced images or runs Phosh Tour.

Inspiration Examples

See the commit where the support was added, here is also link to the image: gitlab.gnome.org/World/Phosh/phosh-tour/-@fe96c01ef9/data/pages/distro/postmarketos/hacking.svg

I asked for screenshot of the distro page as seen on PostmarketOS and will provide it later.

EDIT: screenshot of distro page in attachment

Priority / Severity

Low (anything else e.g., trivial, minor improvements)

I was looking at converting your existing character to have a 1930s Rubberhose cartoon design style. Let me know what you think of this approach and I can sketch something up :)

I was not aware that we have character already. Where did you find it?

I see. Sorry if I were ambiguous; it was an example what PostmarketOS has, not necessarily an example that this is what we want.

I now added a screenshot for a reference of the distro page, again that is what PostmarketOS has. But the logo should be something that represents Mobility SIG (or Mobility Remix). AFAIK we don't have any existing designs or logos so I don't have any existing examples.

But I appreciate the fast response and the sketches you made! The tablet/phone one looks the best in my opinion as that looks most "mobile". But I'll leave free hands to you to design something that tells this is Fedora and Mobility SIG. Description of the SIG is:

Fedora Mobility SIG is a group of contributors that are interested in running Fedora on portable devices such as phones and tablets.

I think Phosh could make a tour similiar to the one Plasma has whenever you start a Plasma distro for the first time (attached below, here is the VM I used for this: https://distrosea.com/start/debian-13.0.0-kde/)

Feel free to create issue(s) at https://gitlab.gnome.org/World/Phosh/phosh-tour/issues

Phosh Tour is started on first start but currently only on rawhide (respective PR here).

I think the plasma desktop reference was not exactly on point here considering phosh is a mobile OS
