What do you need?

Our inspiration for the Fedora 46 wallpaper will be between 4 famous people in STEM whose last name begins with U. The chosen person to inspire F46 is yet to be chosen, but you and the community can vote here!

Fedora 46 will be inspired by [----]

but the F46 wallpaper will be developed between June and December 2026!

How to Contribute

We are currently in the pre-release brainstorming process, so for this phase, all artwork/brainstorming ideas/critiques/messy design fun should happen in the pre-release design epic here

If you would like to participate in this process, please note:

  • The recommended wallpaper dimensions are (minimum dimensions were 4096×4096px) (source) 6k square 6144 x 6144px.
  • Use only open-source programs like Blender, Krita, Inkscape, Gimp, etc.
  • Please post both a screenshot or bitmap export of your work AND the source file.
  • For example, post both a *.blend Blender file and a PNG render so we can see what you did.
  • Attachments work best in comments.
  • Please try to attach and write up everything in a single comment to make the discussion easier, and respond to replies in your comment thread instead of opening a new one.
  • Early November is when our final beta wallpaper should be done!
  • Visuals should be inspired by the themes suggested below.
