Hello,
I, @mschorm, would like to become a Proven Packager.
My 'about me' page covers my Fedora impact - maintaining the MariaDB, MySQL stacks since 2016, and newly also ODBC stack, delivering dozen Fedora Changes, driving several updates to the Packaging Guidelines; community recognitions, and other highlights: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/User:Mschorm
Justification:
As I've gained more experience and broader responsibilities and impact in Fedora, I increasingly run into situations where Proven Packager rights would be convenient - when related changes need to land across dependent packages and maintainers aren't responding to PRs and Bugzilla needinfos.
As a leader of a
@db-sigpackager group, the Proven Packager powers would come handy for side-tag rebuilds we occasionally do, and after @ljavorsk (#2983) left our team, pursuing different carrier opportunity, we lost the only Proven packager we had, leaving a gap that hasn't been filled since.Recently, I've also been taking on larger cross-cutting work - the i686 minimization effort that could affect ~3,500 packages. I'd like to personally drive that to completion, and doing so effectively would require Proven Packager access:

Prerequisites:
I believe the Fedora Changes Packaging Guidelines fixes delivered display my good understanding of the Guidelines and Fedora Linux project nature, and prove I am able to safely land even complex ecosystem changes.
I already have 2FA enabled.

I have emailed the packager sponsors to invite them to vote on this ticket.

+1 but also I don't think you should make the i686 change but I still don't think you've explained why it's useful.
+1 Michal has been helping me out with my backlog wrt Fedora gaming packages and has been doing a great job there (thank you Michal).

It's been a week, I see 14 +1s and 0 -1's so this request is approved.
Use your powers wisely!
(You may need to logout and back on to src.fedoraproject.org to reflect the group membership there).
Do we need to keep this open as pending-announcement or not for PP request tickets?
In the past we just closed them... but thinking about it, it might be nice to actually announce those too? Will defer to others on that...
