Summary

The technology is only useful if Fedora packagers know how to use it. We need clear, step-by-step documentation on Fedora Docs that explains how to configure local AI tools to utilize the Forgejo MCP server for analyzing Fedora packages.

Tasks

  1. Write a conceptual overview of what MCP is and how it helps with Fedora packaging.
  2. Create step-by-step instructions for generating the correct read-only PAT on Fedora Forge.
  3. Provide configuration snippets (JSON) for popular local clients, such as Claude Desktop and Cursor.
  4. Add example prompts (e.g., "Summarize the recent changes to the systemd spec file in this repo").
  5. Submit the documentation PR to the Fedora Docs repository.

Acceptance Criteria

  • Documentation includes the required security warnings regarding token scopes.
  • Configuration snippets are tested and verified working.
  • The documentation is published to the live Fedora Docs site.
  • At least two Fedora contributors successfully follow the guide and validate the workflow.
