Eligibility Criteria

  • Infrastructure and Operations: Configuration management, deployment scripts, or tooling used by the Fedora Infrastructure team to run the project.
  • Release Engineering and Packaging: Tools, scripts, and templates used to build, compose, and distribute Fedora releases, editions, and spins.
  • Governance and Team Organization: Trackers, documentation, and collaborative spaces for official Fedora Teams, Special Interest Groups (SIGs), Working Groups, and Fedora Council initiatives.
  • Fedora-Specific Software: Software projects conceptualized and developed primarily to serve the Fedora community (e.g., Fedora Badges, Bodhi, fedora-messaging, etc.).

Desired Organization Name (Short Name)

pungi

Full Name of Organization

Pungi and related tools

Description of Organization’s Purpose

The organization will host repositories for compose related tools.

Website URL

Fedora Accounts Group for Organization Owners

pungi-devel

Other Information

The repositories need runners for CI. The CI is pretty simple, running mostly unit tests or linting. The jobs are currently executed on https://jenkins-fedora-infra.apps.ocp.cloud.ci.centos.org and take a few minutes to finish, so some kind of shared runners is likely fine.

While we decided not to host upstream projects in the forge. This clearly is an exception because pungi is core component of our compose pipeline.

For the record the repos I though of moving into this org from pagure were

  • pungi
  • compose-utils
  • python-multilib
  • odcs

The last one is not actually used by Fedora anymore and not even packaged anymore. It is used by CentOS though. If it's out of scope for Fedora forge, I can consider migrating it elsewhere.

Okay, the organization is now set up and ready to go:

https://forge.fedoraproject.org/pungi

the following new group has been created and mapped to the owners team on the new pungi organization:

and inherits its membership from the existing pungi-devel Fedora Accounts group.

Finally, are you able to file a seperate ticket for the runner creation for your org using this template:

@lsedlar just checking to see if you have logged in to Fedora Forge since this has been completed. Logging in is required to map the user to the org.

Either no-one in the owners group has logged in, or the mapping is not working properly.
