Summary
We have already created a docs organization in the Fedora Forge staging instance, but we don't have the corresponding Fedora Accounts groups set yet.
Details
In the production instance, we have forge-docs-owners and forge-docs-members, which are inherited via other groups. In the staging instance, we currently have docs-admin and docs groups, but as mentioned, we have no relevant Forge groups.
Could you please create the appropriate groups for the docs organization in the staging instance and add jflory7 and hricky as owners?
Thanks!
CC: @jflory7
This is all set up now, mirroring the production configuration.
The new
forge-docs-ownersandforge-docs-membersFedora Accounts groups have been created on staging.forge-docs-ownersinherits fromdocs-admin, andforge-docs-membersinherits fromdocs. The corresponding teams have been created in the docs org on staging Forge, and the group-team-map has been updated in Ansible.Production also has the Quickdocs team, so I added that as well. The
forge-docs-quickdocsFedora Accounts group has been created with the same 4 sponsors as in production, and the corresponding Quickdocs team has been added to the docs org on staging Forge. The group-team-map entry is also set up in Ansible. The Quickdocs group doesn't inherit from an existing group, so sponsors can add members as needed.Members of the new groups will need to log out and log back in to Forge for the team membership to take effect.
Is it possible to add
jflory7andhrickyas owners of thedocsorg in stg? Currently the only owner of the docs org ishumaton. Sinceforge-docs-ownersgroup inherits fromdocs-admin, I guess we should be added to thedocs-admingroup and you are the sponsor of this group. I am already a member and sponsor of theforge-bootc-owners,forge-atomic-desktops-owners, andforge-playground-ownersso the setup should probably be the same. The scenario which prompted this was that
jflory7and I were looking at some changes to the Fedora Docs and we wanted to use the Fedora Forge staging instance for testing them. To do this we need to migrate repos, create new ones, manage the runners, etc. Thanks!I have updated the owners and members of
docs-adminon staging to match the production instance. Now any one of the 4 sponsors — @darknao, @jflory7, @pbokoc, or @pboy — can add you to thedocs-admingroup, which will be inherited byforge-docs-owners, giving you owner permissions for the docs org on staging.
