Description of request
We should reinstall the remote virthosts we have with rhel10.
Some of these will be tricky as we don't have easy mgmt access or it's odd to get.
These machines are:
dedicatedsolutions01.fedoraproject.org
ibiblio02.fedoraproject.org
ibiblio05.fedoraproject.org
internetx02.fedoraproject.org
osuosl02.fedoraproject.org
This is split out of #12712
So, appears the dedicatedsolutions01 server does not have x86_64_v3 support. ;(
I can try asking for a newer server there...
My first ticket there was closed. I opened a new one this time targeting the right (I hope) support.
internetx02 is now done.
The second dedicatedsolutions ticket is moving forward, they are setting up a newer server for us.
I'm having problems reinstalling the new dedicatedsolutions server. It comes up in the installer but then times out and does not install.
I tested everything (and fixed a few issues) with osuosl02. It is now completed.
ok. I got dedicatedsolutions02 to install finally. I had to pass:
rd.systemd.gpt_auto=0
My theory is that because there was a fedora 44 install on the machine, when rhel10 installer started it tried to mount/setup drives based on gpt labels, but many of them are btrfs, which rhel10 doesn't have any support for, so it puked. I guess we could test that by doing a fedora install in a vm and then trying to boot the rhel10.1 installer on it.
Anyhow, it's all installed and ready for service now.
Except that partitioning was wrong. ;( So, I tried to reinstall it again and messed up the boot line. I've asked them to reboot it again...
Done ibiblio05 and finally got dedicatedsolutions02 done.
Just leaving ibiblio02.
I tried to do ibiblio02 during the recently outage, but... it wouldn't let me reformat the /boot/efi partition, so I backed out doing the reinstall.
I am thinking of perhaps doing another scheduled outage after flock to try and do a bunch more rhel10 migrations and can try this one again then.
ibiblio02 is done finally. It was quite a pain. ;(
