We need to encrypt the traffic between our proxy servers and fas servers. We have VPN between them and what not but there's no need to send unencrypted traffic over the wire even on the LAN in PHX.

We should also look into the mod_auth_pg stuff. I think that it all goes over the VPN right now as well. Look into either using native pg SSL support or stunnel.

Is this still an open issue?
Or should it be closed?

This actually is still an issue, but we are going to fix it when we replace fas.

The folks working on that know that everything should always be encrypted, so having a issue here isn't really doing any good, so I am going to close this.
