Calling into FedoraTalk at extension 1000 you have the option of a user directory. The directory searches by first name. If your name is John it will a long time before you find John Poelstra

= reason =

Asterisk Config (per Jared)

= recommendation =

Change Asterisk config to allow search of first or last name.

I'd also like to change the request to also do the following:

Use case: Dial 1000, Enter 644 (N-I-G)

N - I - G - E - L "Space" J - O - N - E - S "Extension " N - I - G - E - L - J "If this is the person ...."

Can we:

a) use festival for phrasing names?
b) replace the verbal extension with the numerical extension (so people don't need to repeat this step again)
OR
b) read out both

I was able to dial extension 1000, then press 8 to access the directory.

I tested searching for myself by first name and last name. Both worked as expected.
