Welcome Message & Introduction
Welcome to Fedora!
Hello @tjustus (FAS profile)! We are excited to have you here.

📖 Essential Reading
Take a look at these links to get a broad idea of how our community operates:
📝 Tell us about yourself!
When you are ready, please introduce yourself (either on the mailing list or right here in this ticket). To help us point you toward the right teams, we'd love to know:
Share as much or as little as you'd like and if you have any questions at all, please ask. We'll use this ticket to keep in touch! :)
Here is the intro they wrote in the channel:
To expand on my background:
I have experience with system administration, Azure, scripting/automation, declarative languages, and DevOps.
I’m currently running Fedora 44 on my desktop and have Asahi Linux dual booted on my MacBook.
I’ve participated in GitHub projects in the past but am looking to step up and use some of my spare time more productively in a way that benefits everyone and gain some experience in the process.
I’m looking to volunteer around 5-7 hours a week, but it will vary depending on life circumstances and how sucked in I get :)
I started exploring Linux with Ubuntu in 2013 and started watching The Linux Action Show. Bryan Lunduke used to complain and make fun of Fedora constantly which actually made me more curious about it so I ended up trying it and really enjoying it. Fedora presented a steeper learning curve than Ubuntu in those days, especially to somebody with limited experience.

Hello,
Thanks for your introduction.
Have you settled on the Infrastructure and Quality Assurance teams or are you considering other options as well?
(If you are considering other teams, I can generate a recommendation for you based on your introduction)
Hey Nik,
I finished the essential reading and some of the linked articles nested there as well. I would like to start out with just QA and get into infra later as time allows. I believe starting in QA will be easier to manage with my current skill set as I learn more, such as advanced Ansible concepts.
In that case, here is the fedora QA docs page:

Thank you. I've started contributing by submitting test results on Bodhi. I appreciate your help.
That's amazing! Thanks for helping out. We'll leave this ticket open for a bit so you can keep in touch---we can close it once you think you no longer need it.
Do you think we should close this ticket now?
