Enforcing this feature for all projects in Fedora Weblate would make sure the cobtributors' names in the initial lines as comment, not only in the Last-Translator header field, hence keeping history of contributions.

For more info see weblate docs.

There is no reason to not enable it, I think. +1

I understand the reasoning (keep track of contributors to provide them credit in an explicit way).
I suggest to first communicate this on translation mailing list to get translator feedback.
If no issue from translator, let's go on devel mailing list too.

Why?
Some project may dislike bigger po files or it may break their automation. I remember project from Daniel Berrangé (libvirt) with some tuning because of huge po files, and a will to have less useless stuff in git repository.
While I don't really understand its motivation, let's ensure this is visible enough for everyone to adapt (even if the adaptation is to disable the Add-on)

They'll need to understand the motivation to do that.
If agreed, then we may add this guideline in https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/localization/hosting/
most likely answer: all we say it is fine

Announced in trans mailing list and in Fedora Discussion. I placed one week before applying the change (Mar 6, 2026).
