Hi folks,
I'm generating a weekly report of activity in the Fedora project centered on teams and SIGs, it's called This Week in Fedora. This generation uses an LLM. The goal is to make it easier to catch up with everything that's going on in the project, and to give visibility to each group's work and requests for help or testing. I think that from a newcomer's point of view, having an insight on what a group is working on at a point in time is helpful to decide whether it's interesting and worth contributing to.
I'm collecting activity from:
i18n,trans, andtrans-announceI've asked in the chat last week whether the group was OK with collecting the messages in the
#l10nand#i18nchannels and the response was no, so I'm not collecting them, but I wanted to check that the other sources are OK with you.And if you work in other places that you would like to have collected, I may be able to (I can do RSS feeds!).
I'm happy to answer questions if you have any. Thanks!
trans-announceis not in use for a long long time. And I am not aware of any its resurrection. IMHO it can be omitted. In general and personally, I would rather stay out of any LLM processing, even though it collects only our team's last data/sources. At the same time feeling ambivalent if should my personal preference to prejudice the meaning for the translation community.
transoften contains introductions of new coming translators, if it is possible I would suggest to exclude the introductions from the collection, at least. I can imagine some might not be happy if they would be 'sourced publicly' immediately after their first entry on the scene. Thanks!
I've excluded your username from matrix chats if the group decides to enable them, and from mailing-list posts (assuming you post with your fedoraproject.org alias, if not please ping or email me)
I'm trying to let individuals opt-out even if the group opts-in so it should be fine.
Wouldn't it be encouraging?
On September 7th 2026, this proposal already received 5 thumb down and zero thumb up.

There is now two Fedora Localization Admin saying explicitly no, peartown and myself.
Also, there is an ongoing discussion there regarding the approval from Fedora Community to have an automated bot publishing content based on our discussions: matrix/tickets#14
For now, the answer from Localization community is negative, sorry for that, let's move on.
