This is purely an idea and I am totally fine with dropping this because even I am not totally sold on on this. It may not jive with the spirit of Fedora and contribution.

However, I think we would benefit from knowing who would like to be considered a "formal" part of the Marketing Team, and we should have a system for regularly checking in with team members so that we can manage expectations around who is still available to help with things and who is not.

For the first piece, it could be helpful to have a form for people who would like to join to:

  1. Get to know them
  2. See how they would like to contribute
  3. See what skills they bring to the table

Then those details are collected somewhere, which could be as a group in the FAS or maybe in our Fedora Docs. These would be the "official" members of the team and maybe this is the group from which we make like voting decisions. For example, if we stick with the marketing campaigns, this is the group that would vote on which topic we pursue for next month. Things like that.

After a certain period of time, like maybe 3 months. We do a check-in internally that basically says "if you would like to still be considered a part of the marketing team, please let us know via x way." That way we keep our list of official team members accurate. Folks who don't respond would be marked as inactive. However, anyone whether old or new could join the marketing team at any time. So if you're new you could join at any time and if you're coming back to the team after a period of inactivity you could also just become active again by letting us know.

Anyway, this is just an outline for an idea, we can toss it if we want to do something else or nothing entirely. Very open to feedback.

I think this is a great idea. I also think we should update the marketing Docs for the Fedora website, and in there we can have a section like: The Team, where we highlight who is part of the team, so that people who want to get involved can directly contact someone as well, or if another team has a request they can also write to these people.
