About you
Name: Artur Frenszek-Iwicki
FAS username: suve
How do you primarily contribute to Fedora? (2-3 sentences): I've been a package maintainer since 2017.
About the event
Event name(s): 20 Sesja Linuksowa (20th Linux Session)
Event dates: 25th-26th of April 2026 (Sat-Sun)
Event location(s): Wrocław University Of Science and Technology, Wrocław, Poland
Event URL(s): https://linuksowa.pl; archival websites hosted at
<edition-no>.sesja.linuksowa.plEvent description(s) (2-4 sentences per event): Sesja Linuksowa is one of the oldest FLOSS conferences in Poland, bringing in hundreds of attendees each year. It features two days full of talks and a "middle party" where attendees can get to know each other better.
Requested support
Swag needs:
How will you use Fedora budget for this event?:
We'd like to use the Fedora budget to provide some basic catering for our attendees, seeing how the event spans over two days.
Total: ~140 USD
This event & Fedora
Are you a speaker or presenter? If yes, give the title and description of your presentation: N/A (CfP ongoing)
Are you an organizer or volunteer? If yes, explain your role: I am helping with the organization this year, mostly handling reaching out to potential sponsors and speakers.
Why is it a good idea for the Fedora Project to have a presence?: Because the Session is (as far as I know) the biggest community-organized, free to attend FLOSS conference in Poland. With a duration of two days and hundreds of attendees on-site (plus many more watching the on-line stream), it provides a great opportunity to boost Fedora's visibility in the community. A distribution directly supporting an event is a rather rare occurrence here in Poland; coupled with the Session often featuring talks from Fedora community members, a larger presence would help paint Fedora as a project that cares and supports it community.
Why do you want to represent the Fedora community here?: Because Fedora has had a presence during previous editions, and I'd like for this to continue.
Are there others in the Fedora community who could help this event be successful? If yes, name any key individuals, teams, or SIGs in the Fedora community needed for success: Possibly Dominik Mierzejewski (
rathann); not directly involved as an organizer, but a frequent speaker on the event's stage.Other
set status to To do
For the budget of a small event (please see this) and the kind that has had regular representation of the Fedora Project, it makes little sense not to support this endeavour. I would, however, ask for a revisit of the answers (either this year's or from the next edition onwards) on the ticket to ensure that an outsider who has not been to this conference (like me) has an understanding of what the event has to offer to the Fedora Project (and vice versa). This would not only allow others to join in the fun but also help them take your example for whenever they want to organise a similarly scoped event for the Fedora Project.
+1 from my end with the aforementioned consideration. Please don't forget the event reports! Thanks!
changed start date to January 26, 2026 and changed due date to March 05, 2026
+1 from me! Looks like a nice event. P.S. I love the penguin on the website 😆 he looks very cool.

+1 from me - as @gridhead said, trip report too please :)
changed start date to April 25, 2026 and changed due date to April 27, 2026
Thanks for the approval. Please ping me when the table topper design is ready, as I'll need to find a print shop. It's a great idea in terms of visibility and the item itself can be reused for future events.
Hi @suvepl! I've uploaded the designs here: https://forge.fedoraproject.org/design/design-assets/src/branch/main/event-kit/Posters/sponsored-by-fedora
They are optimised for printing with a home or office printer 😆 nothing too fancy but more accessible for people!
Ah, I've seen the posters, we certainly can use those. But I still think that the table runner idea is worth a shot.
@ekidney Do we have Fedora table runner designs? Or do we know how to place an order for those in European sizing/colors/etc?
Discussed in 2026-03-19 Mindshare Committee meeting.
Hi @suvepl! Following up from our March 19th Mindshare sync, this ticket is officially marked as APPROVED. The ~140 USD budget for catering/snacks is fully cleared!
Regarding the table signage: Emma's posters are definitely the immediate solution we had in mind for the "Sponsored by Fedora" signage since they are quick and accessible to print locally for the snack table. However, if you are interested in having a dedicated, reusable "table runner" produced for future Polish events, we can probably figure something out. That would likely need to go through a separate swag/printing request ticket with Mindshare, but it's a great idea for long-term regional visibility.
Sure. As I wrote before, I really like the idea. Plus, I somehow became involved in organizing other events, like P.I.W.O. or Linux Autumn, the latter of which did host a Fedora Release Party in 2024 and 2025. So the table runner could definitely see some reuse. :)
No we don't have a table runner design, just the table cloth. I've never created a table runner before so it would require more research on my end. I don't know anywhere off hand where we would order it from either.
A proper proposal for one logged on the Mindshare ticket queue would be beneficial with pricing and a vendor sourced so we can make sure it's logistically feasible before we create the design for it. Someone else would have to take the reigns on a proposal though as I wouldnt have time to put into it until after Flock 🙈
Ah, sorry, I was using the two words as synonyms, but yes, a runner is not the same thing as table cloth. (My grandma would be disappointed.) Thanks for the link to the cloth design, I'll do some research over the weekend re/print shops.
Forgot to link the event report here. Oops.

Closing this out. The 20th Linux Session (Sesja Linuksowa) took place in Wroclaw, Poland. Fedora sponsored the event with branded cups used as Q&A prizes and catering funding. Two community representatives attended, including a workshop on video acceleration on Linux.

Thank you @suve for organizing Fedora's presence.
