This action item includes a necessary activity prescribed from the discussions that took place during the Fedora Council Strategy Summit 2026, for the Digital Ambassadorship team of the Fedora Mindshare committee.

  • Existing swagpack design assets and digital promotional assets need to be reviewed (and if needed, recreated) to ensure they are updated/relevant while exhibiting how the Fedora Project community functions.

  • The remit of the official Fedora Project social media handles, accounts, platforms, communities, etc., has to be clearly documented alongside the contact details of those managing them on the project's behalf.

The aforementioned requirements are expected to be completed and reported upon by the commencement of the annual flagship community conference, Flock To Fedora 2026 (that is, on or before 14th June 2026).

Thanks for logging this ticket @t0xic0der!

I’m going to break this down a bit more:

  • Swag pack designs

I can propose what could be included in a swag pack to the team and prepare them for hand-off to be created. We already have some stuff in our event-kit repo.

  • Digital promotion assets

This will require some research / brainstorming and input from Marketing. It’ll have to be part of a larger Design ticket. I don’t think we currently have a lot of re-usable assets for socials, but some existing ones can be reworked to be evergreen.

Once complete I can have assets stored on the Design team repo and accessible through a link on a relevant doc page.

I don’t think this will be complete before Flock, but the process can be started.

I can check if the details here are still accurate.

I’d like to also formalize the vetting process for handing out regional social media account access by creating a specific Issue Template on Forgejo for these types of requests as mentioned in here. I think this would be best implemented on Mindshare's ticket tracker as it gets more eyes and @joseph is on Mindshare too, but I’d be interested to see what others think.

Physical Swag Designs

I had a look at the inventory spreadsheet for the Event Boxes in Raleigh, North Carolina, USA and Brno, CZ. The US box's inventory was taken recently but the CZ one hasn’t been updated since June 2025. Current swag includes:

  • Lanyards - Black fedora lanyards & powder blue fedora lanyards (new logo)
  • Fedora Pens (Old logo)
  • Fedora tablecloth
  • Fedora Colur stickers
  • Fedora Badger stickers
  • Fedora hexagon stickers
  • Fedora/Centos/EPEL/RedHat sticker/info sheets
  • Take the open source way badges

What we currently have designs for:

  • Stickers:
    • Badger with logo (3in x 1.8in)
    • Beefy wearing sunglasses (3in x 1.43in)
    • Beefy with logo (3in x 1.5in)
    • Panda (3in x 1.6in)
    • Colur (3in x 2.5in)
    • Character sticker sheet (A4)
    • Mascot sticker sheet (A6)
    • Fedora horizontal logo (3in x 1in)
    • Fedora infinity logo (2in)
    • Fedora hex (2in)
    • Fedora loves (6.3 x 3.4cm)
    • Fedora loves Forgejo (7.9x3.4cm)
    • Fedora loves Forgejo monochrome (7.9 x 3.4cm)
    • Fedora loves Python (9.1 x 3.4cm)
    • Fedora loves Python monochrome (9.1 x 3.4cm)
    • Fedora loves Rust (9.1 x 3.4cm)
    • Fedora loves Rust monochrome (9.1x3.4cm)
  • Handouts
  • Tablecloth
  • Standup Banner
  • Printables

What we could make designs for & include in event boxes:

  • Event postcards - Madeline is already designing ones for Flock, but had the idea of creating a more generic version to be used at events.
  • Button pins - Dorka & Robert got some made for FOSDEM, and they proved to be popular.
  • Keychains - I ran a swag survey at FOSDEM and even though I didn’t get many participants, keyrings scored high. Dorka also had trolley coin keyrings made for FOSDEM and they were popular. We dont have to go with the trolley coin - even a regular keyring with the Fedora logo or a mascot.

I would recommend:

  • Replenishing the stickers in the event boxes with some of the ones I linked above.
  • Updating the Fedora/Centos/EPEL/RedHat sticker/info sheets and reprinting.
  • Creating and adding in event postcards, button pins, and keychains.
  • When we run out of the old logo pens, replenish with ones with the new logo.

Let me know what you all think!

Still occupied to the brim here, but on a skim here, this looks absolutely great!

Regarding the action items that you have listed in there, the earliest we get started with those, the sooner we should be able to get the inventories refreshed by the time of Flock To Fedora 2026. The event is anyway a little over a month away from today so how about we use the meeting on 14th May 2026 (i.e. this Thursday) to discuss the more granular details before starting off? In the off chance, that folks are unavailable during that meeting, we can always use the Fedora Mindshare Matrix Chat for this.
