I would like to ask for a budget for a Fedora 40 release party in Prague. I was asked by the local community to come over and do it, but our Brno site budget doesn't have money for it. I don't have any concrete date yet, I'd like to wait with any detailed planning until I know we have any budget for it and it can happen at all.
My FAS account: eischmann
A rough budget proposal:
$200-300
The venue has been offered by Etnetera, they may also chip in some
for refreshment, but it's not sure.changed the description
This seems very worthwhile to me. As I understand it, events are usually very well attended.
$250 to $300 to cover the event sounds good to me. However, I don't see a swag request here. Maybe @Eischmann wants to add it.
provisional +1 for a $250 to $300 budget.
AFAIK we still have some Fedora swag in Brno office, so I should be fine on this front. Let me check it next week.
Update: the hotel will be $165. It was the cheapest option for Prague in Egencia. Sadly as a redhatter I have to book with Egencia even when it's sponsored by Fedora. Otherwise I'd be able to get something twice cheaper. I booked a twin bed room because it was for the same price as a single bed room and I hope I can pack one more speaker with me.
The travel should be ~$40/return ticket.
The good news is that Etnetera, which provided us with the venue, will probably sponsor refreshment, so the total should be around $200.
