This event & Fedora
Are you a speaker or presenter? If yes, give the title and description of your presentation: no
Are you an organizer or volunteer? If yes, explain your role: no
Why is it a good idea for the Fedora Project to have a presence?: This is the place in Balkans where hackers, free and open-source enthusiasts gather. Talks are similar to the ones delivered at FOSDEM with slight incline towards hacking.
Why do you want to represent the Fedora community here?: If Fedora is to be at any event in Balkans, it must be this one.
Are there others in the Fedora community who could help this event be successful? If yes, name any key individuals, teams, or SIGs in the Fedora community needed for success: Nemanja Milosev (nmilosev), Natasa Sukur(nsukur), Bojana Medic (littlecat), ...

There is very limited time to get the swag shipped as well, for which reason we'd like to go around Serbian customs and have my friends from Belgium bring them over here with them. As I understood, shipping swag to Belgium should be fairly fast and will make everything so much easier.

+1 for $150 in conference tickets. The trade-off with replacing the bannerstands works from me. I wish it were easier to order and distribute these!
We can wait for feedback from others, but if we do not hear back, I will purchase the four tickets using my credit card.
@fedorauser1 I need to ask that either you or each member of the team submit a "BEAR request" through another issue tracker. Because this is classified as a "gift", I have to receive approval before I can officially make the purchase. I don't expect any issues, but I do need this information in order to comply with anti-bribery and anti-corruption laws.
Use this link to fill the template. In the Amenities section of the template, you can overwrite it with the individual ticket cost for each of you.
@jwflory BEAR request has been submitted.
Please make sure to buy tickets as soon as possible as there is a deadline.
We will assume that everything will go well and go ahead and refresh roll-up banners and table cloths meanwhile.
Regarding swag, please let me know if there is anything I can do to expedite that.
Hopefully shipping to Belgium may happen soon enough.

changed due date to October 22, 2024
changed health status to on track
This request is ~"state::approved". The BEAR request is sent for processing (redhat/ospo/bear#49). I will work with @fedorauser1 to secure the conference registration. I also see there is a 60€ per person cost for event name badges. We can include that cost in this request because I have a pool of underspent funds from another event this quarter that expire at the end of September.
This issue can be closed once the local team provides an event report and/or social media about BalCCon2k24.
Have a great time, team! Looking forward to seeing amazing photos. Maybe cookies too? 😀
assigned to @fedorauser1 and unassigned @jwflory
Closing this issue as all is resolved.
