About you

  • Name: Jiri Eischmann
  • FAS username: eischmann
  • How do you primarily contribute to Fedora? (2-3 sentences): I've been a Fedora ambassador for the Czech Republic since 2011, I organize Fedora presence at local events, and run the Czech Fedora community portal - mojefedora.cz. I'm also a Fedora packager.

About the event

  • Event name(s): LinuxDays 2025
  • Event dates: Oct 4-5, 2025
  • Event location(s): Prague, Czech Republic
  • Event URL(s): https://www.linuxdays.cz/2025/
  • Event description(s) (2-4 sentences per event): It's the biggest Linux event in the Czech Republic with 1000+ attendees. Organized by Czech University of Technology students at their campus.

  • Other needs:

This event & Fedora

  • Are you a speaker or presenter? If yes, give the title and description of your presentation: I'm not a speaker this year, but I will run a Fedora booth and represent Fedora in the exhibition area.
  • Are you an organizer or volunteer? If yes, explain your role: See above.
  • Why is it a good idea for the Fedora Project to have a presence?: It's the biggest Linux event in the country, if there is one event to be present at, it's this one.
  • Why do you want to represent the Fedora community here?: Because I'm a Fedora ambassador and it's my job to promote it in my country. :)
  • Are there others in the Fedora community who could help this event be successful? If yes, name any key individuals, teams, or SIGs in the Fedora community needed for success: it'd be difficult for a single person to run the booth for 2 days, so I'm looking for 1-2 more volunteers, they might ask for reimbursement in separate tickets.

Other

  • Is there anything else the Fedora Mindshare Committee should know when reviewing your request?:
<!--Thank you for your interest in proposing an event for the Fedora community. This issue template is the first place to start in getting support and/or funding for your event. Fedora is overspent for the year, so I've offered to fund this from the CentOS budget. Jiri, please connect with me before filing your expenses so we can get them in correctly for CentOS.

Per @smccance's comment, we were able to provide funding for @Eischmann. I'm closing this ticket as ~"state::duplicate" since it was moved over to CentOS funding.

Big thanks to our CentOS friends and Shaun for providing the coverage here! :pray_tone1:
