Can't set the default Bugzilla assignee at src.fedoraproject.org for the package I'm co-maintaining #13363

Describe the issue

I'm a co-maintainer for the virtualbox-guest-additions package (https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/virtualbox-guest-additions) and per agreement with Hans de Goede (main admin), I'd like to set myself as the default Bugzilla assignee using the standard UI @src. I do see the "Edit" button as expected, but when putting my FAS username (alext) there, the POST returns a 401 with the following JSON:

{"error":"You are not allowed to modify this project","error_code":"EMODIFYPROJECTNOTALLOWED"}

When do you need this? (YYYY/MM/DD)

N/A, can wait

When is this no longer needed or useful? (YYYY/MM/DD)

N/A

If we cannot complete this, what is the impact? [Dependencies/Blocker]

N/A, not a major thing

Checklist

  • I have checked existing issues for duplicates (none found), also basic web search for anything similar
  • I have filled out all the fields above
  • I have provided relevant links or references
  • I've tried to log out/log in again from/to the @src, clearing the browser cache, reloading the page, the usual (I'm on Firefox).

Hello. 👋
I tried doing it via the web UI and it seems to have worked. If you encounter any issues please feel free to re-open this ticket.

Just got to try it again, and unfortunately nothing changed - still getting the same error, using the web UI, just as you did (just to make it clear - my initial attempt described originally was also from the web UI, all that additional data is form the DevTools, just to aid troubleshooting).

Although there's one change - today I see that the EPEL default assignee is set to me, not sure if one of the previous attempts that day worked or maybe Patrik that was your test you mentioned? Either way, the "Fedora" one is more important, and it's still set to Hans, and I can't seem to be able to change that.

I think only the main admin has ACLs to change the Bugzilla assignee in pagure-dist-git. I assume patrikp was able to do it since they have special admin powers.

@alext Maxwell is right, you aren't supposed to be able to change it, it's by design. My apologies, I misread the original ticket and for some reason thought you only wanted to be the default assignee for EPEL-related issues. I went ahead and put you in as the default Bugzilla assignee for Fedora as well. 👍
