I think it is time to start to develop a guide about how to set up Ansible support for Fedora Server. Maybe, we should start to collect ideas what to include. From my (limited) understanding we need something like this as part of the post-install guide or as an atricle in the new post-install subdirectory.

  • What it is
    • Fedora Server Edition includes specific Ansible roles to help the administrator to setup services according / in according with the Fedora Server technical specifications.
    • Fedora Server Ansible support relies on roles contained in various Fedora Ansible packages.
  • How it works
    • You need a "control node" which executes the Ansible scripts and performs actions on the server to configure (using ssh).
    • There are at lease 3 scenarious
      • Use a Fedora desktop as controle node
In the GUI lok for "sofdtware" and install ...
      • Use a dedicated management server
Open a terminal, dnf install ...
        Basic configuration steps
      • Use the (single) server as controle node, too
Open a terminal, dnf install ...
        Basic configuration steps
  • Details instructions per scenario
