My question is: what is Red Hat planning to do with Ptyxis? Are you planning to continue development somewhere else, switching to some other terminal or sticking to the same version?
Ptyxis is on l10n.gnome.org, translators currently waste their time on unmatained app with seemingly no plan on what to do with it. If Red Hat/someone else won't pick it up, I'm gonna file a ticket to GNOME i18n coordinators to remove the app from l10n.g.o, unmatainained apps have no place there.
This question is directed here, because it's RH who made this entire mess. Translators shouldn't pay the price of some corpo not wanting to relocate one employee to office in another country.
Ptyxis is unmaintained? This is new information to me.
By the way, are you aware that Canonical also uses Ptyxis by default in Ubuntu?
This is public information for months at this point. In the linked thread you can see Christian himself say that.
Ptyxis is a RH's product.
I'm not sure it requires any plan. It works fine currently, and it's clearly the best terminal designed for GNOME desktop. We've already rejected Console and surely won't go back to gnome-terminal. Somebody will presumably volunteer to maintain Ptyxis eventually.
Please don't do that.
FWIW, as far as I know, most of the problems that Console had years ago have been fixed in the meantime.
@asciiwolf Ptyxis has many features that Console does not have.
Yep, for example the container-related things. I don't dispute that. I am just pointing out that the a11y and other major issues that Console had four years ago have been resolved.
Some of them were, some of them were ignored. GNOME Console became the core app despite being rejected by both prominent distributions that ship GNOME (Fedora and Ubuntu). We would more likely go back to GNOME Terminal than Console, since Terminal was ported to GTK4.
Do you have any examples of things that were ignored? Anyway, GNOME Terminal was already awful years ago, so I really hope we will not start using it again in Fedora.
So Fedora is going to tag a release on your own? I don't care what you will choose to do from now on, I only care about translators' work not going to waste.

I recommend reviewing the previous issue report that I linked to in my previous comment. It was going nowhere slowly.
That said, of our previously-agreed blockers, the only one remaining is Support for user-defined color schemes. That one has a merge request awaiting review for four years now.

People are still submitting translation commits. It's not fair situation.

Someone from my translation team submitted a translation for Ptyxis, and I myself have no idea what to do with it. Should I review it and spend time on something that will potentially never make it to any release or should I waste precious translation of someone who spent their time on it? I really don't think what you said is fair to us translators.
There are plenty of unmaintained or undermaintained GNOME core apps. You still translate those?
Anyway, there is no serious request for the Working Group to consider here, so I'm going to close this. The answer for Ptyxis is same as always: somebody will either volunteer to maintain it, or not. The Working Group has basically zero success rate at finding people to work on things, so it's probably pointless to try.
Translators like to see 100% completion rates, even if that means they're gonna translate totally dead apps, especially if those apps are used by popular distributions. Expectations are that if something is available for translations on l10n.g.o, it's maintained.
Anyway, it was worth giving a try.
